Hostinger's AI website builder, now called Hostinger AI Builder, builds a site from a short description, a PDF or an existing website's URL, then lets you edit it by drag and drop (manual mode) or by chatting with the AI (agentic mode). It comes with Hostinger's builder plans: as of October 2026, Premium is on a Black Friday promotional price of $2.49 a month on a 48-month term paid upfront, renewing at $10.99 a month. In August 2026 Hostinger merged its website builder and Horizons, its AI app builder, into this one product. What Hostinger AI Builder does
You start from the Websites section of the Hostinger dashboard, choose AI Builder, pick a mode and describe your business in up to 700 characters; you can also attach an image or PDF, speak your prompt, start from a template or paste a website URL to recreate its design. Manual mode generates the site and then hands you a drag-and-drop editor, with AI tools that Hostinger lists as an AI Writer for copy, product descriptions and SEO content, an AI Logo Maker, an AI SEO Assistant, AI-generated product pages and images, and AI email campaigns through Hostinger Reach. Agentic mode keeps you in a chat: you describe changes and the AI edits the whole site or app, including code, a database, user accounts and file storage. Hostinger's AI website builder FAQ says in one answer that you cannot switch approach mid-process and in another that you can switch to agentic mode anytime, and its changelog shows that since August 20, 2026 existing manual sites can be imported into agentic mode. Recent updates add server-side rendering for new sites and booking flows for appointment-based businesses.
What it costs, including renewal
AI Builder comes with a builder or hosting plan, paid upfront. As of October 2026, Hostinger is running Black Friday promotional prices on the 48-month term: Premium is $2.49 a month ($119.52 upfront) and renews at $10.99 a month, Unlimited is $3.49 a month ($167.52) and renews at $16.99, and Cloud Startup is $7.99 a month ($383.52) and renews at $25.99. These are sale prices, so they may change after the promotion; Premium renews at more than four times its intro price, so judge it on the second term too. Premium covers up to 3 websites and 2 mailboxes per site; Unlimited and Cloud Startup add unlimited websites, ecommerce, priority support and AI email marketing for up to 100 subscribers for one year. The custom domain and mailboxes are free for the first year only. AI credits come as a one-time gift when you buy a new plan (250, 500 or 1,000), and Hostinger's support page says renewals and upgrades add none and that unused plan credits expire with the plan; the current Black Friday offer doubles them. Website Builder vs Horizons: what changed
Until August 2026 Hostinger sold two separate tools: Hostinger Website Builder, a drag-and-drop site builder with AI helpers, and Hostinger Horizons, a separate chat-based AI app builder. On August 18, 2026 Hostinger's changelog announced that Horizons and Website Builder had become AI Builder. In practice, manual mode is the old Website Builder approach and agentic mode is Horizons; both run on the same plans, and since October 16, 2026 a single AI credit balance covers AI Builder, Hostinger Agent, Hostinger Reach and other Hostinger AI products. Choose manual mode for a brochure site or store you want to edit yourself, and agentic mode when you need logins, data or custom logic. Ownership, export and lock-in
For agentic projects, Hostinger documents a code export: from the Code tab you export a .zip containing a Node.js project built with React and Vite, the only export format. It runs on a VPS with Node.js; shared or cloud hosting needs a static build first. The export does not include the integrated backend data, which stays in AI Builder, and once you edit the exported code you cannot import it back to keep prompting. Exporting needs a paid plan. We found no Hostinger documentation of a code export for manual mode sites, so plan on a manual site staying on Hostinger. The domain is the other tie: it is free for the first year and then renews at Hostinger's price. Among the alternatives, GoDaddy says you can export Airo code at any time, and Durable will transfer your custom domain if you cancel.
Which builder fits your project
Pick Hostinger AI Builder if you want the lowest monthly rate and can commit to four years, and use agentic mode only if you need app features. We read Hostinger's AI Builder, website builder and pricing pages, its support articles on the free trial, AI credits and code export, and its changelog, then picked five AI website builders aimed at the same small business buyers. For each one we read the official pricing and product pages on October 27, 2026 and recorded every price and limit with its source. We did not test the tools ourselves. Prices are in US dollars before tax and change often.
What we could not verify
Hostinger's pages disagree on the free trial: its support article says the AI Builder trial lasts 7 days, gives 250 credits in agentic mode and does not allow publishing or payments, while the website builder page FAQ says 14 days, and the AI Builder page FAQ says both modes can be tried free with no card and 5 free AI credits; the support article also says the AI Builder page offers no trial during the Black Friday sale. Template counts also vary across Hostinger's pages, from 300+ to 600+. We could not confirm how long the Black Friday prices will last. We could not confirm whether manual mode sites can be exported.

Hostinger Horizons was Hostinger's AI app builder; since August 18, 2026 it lives on as the agentic mode of Hostinger AI Builder. You describe what you want in a chat and the AI writes the code, with databases, user accounts and file storage built in, so it can make booking sites, membership sites, internal tools, CRMs and small SaaS apps as well as websites. The default stack is React and Vite on the front end and Node.js on the back end, and you can export the code as a .zip file. Real limits: every change that edits code spends AI credits from the same one-time plan balance, and extra credits are bought as top-ups; Hostinger says it cannot build native iOS or Android apps, browser extensions, or trading and banking apps; an export covers the front end and logic files but not the integrated backend data, and an exported project cannot be imported back to keep prompting. Real limits: there is no free plan, only a 14-day free trial with no credit card, and you need a paid plan to publish. As of October 2026, Basic costs $19 a month paid annually or $25 monthly and includes 10 one-time AI credits plus a 2% fee on online store sales; Core ($29 a month paid annually) removes that store fee and gives 20 AI credits a month. GoDaddy says you can view and edit the generated code, export it at any time, and connect services such as Stripe by asking in a prompt. Real limits: as of October 2026, the free plan gives 50 AI credits a month for unlimited preview sites, and GoDaddy's page does not say whether it can publish; Starter costs $9.99 a month billed annually ($19.99 monthly) with 150 credits a month and 1 site or app. Credits expire at the end of each billing cycle. The trade-offs: the $2.49 Black Friday price needs a 48-month upfront term and renews at $10.99 a month, AI credits are a one-time balance, and only agentic projects have a documented code export. Choose Wix for a free plan and a larger platform, Squarespace for design, GoDaddy Airo for monthly AI credits or Durable for a service business CRM.
