Best No-Code AI App Builder in 2026

By Ethan Halfhide · Updated October 19, 2026

Last verified 2026-10-19

The best no-code AI app builder for most people in October 2026 is Lovable for full-stack web apps you can take to GitHub, Base44 for the cheapest all-in-one start, Bubble for complex apps that also need native mobile, and Adalo or FlutterFlow for App Store and Google Play apps. We compared 8 builders on their official pricing, limits and features.

TL;DR: Top pick

Lovable: Lovable turns a plain-language description into a full-stack web app. Its built-in Lovable Cloud adds a Postgres database, user logins (email, Google, Apple and more) and file storage, with free hosting on a lovable.app address. You work in Plan or Build mode and the agent edits the code across files. GitHub sync works on every plan, including Free, so the code can go with you. Real limits: it builds web apps only, not native iOS or Android apps; work is metered in credits, Free stops at 30 build credits a month, and the database and AI features inside your app also use credits. Lovable says its current chat pricing and daily chat allowance apply through October 31, 2026, and its monthly Cloud and AI grants are temporary, so check its pricing again after that. Pick it if you want a real web product you could later hand to a developer.

How we ranked them

We picked tools that let a non-developer go from a plain-language description to a working app, then ranked them on five things, in this order: (1) how much of the app the AI builds for you (screens, database, logins) and how much you still set up by hand; (2) whether a backend, user accounts and hosting are included; (3) whether you can publish native iOS and Android apps or only web apps; (4) whether you can take your code or data with you if you leave; and (5) what the free plan allows and how quickly paid usage grows.

Which builder fits your project

For a web product with accounts and a database that a developer may take over later, choose Lovable, or Base44 if a lower monthly bill matters more than free-plan GitHub sync. For a phone app in the App Store and Google Play, choose Adalo for flat pricing and drag-and-drop editing, FlutterFlow if you want the Flutter code, or Bubble if the same product also needs a full web app. For a client portal or team tool on Airtable, Google Sheets or your own data, choose Softr, or Glide if the tool starts as a spreadsheet. If you are comfortable reading code, Bolt.new gives you a coding agent with hosting built in. If you need a marketing site rather than an app, our no code website builder ranked list is a better fit, and our AI website builder comparison covers prompt-to-site tools.

Costs that grow as you build

Most of these tools meter AI work, so the advertised price is a starting point. Lovable, Base44, Glide and Softr sell monthly credits that run out; Bolt.new counts tokens, and bigger projects use more per message; Bubble meters server workload on top of the plan and charges overages unless you turn them off. Adalo is the exception, with no usage or token charges on any plan. Included credits often expire: Bubble's included AI credits do not roll over, Softr's reset monthly, and Bolt's paid tokens and Lovable's monthly-plan credits roll over but expire after two months. Budget for app store accounts too: Apple charges $99 a year and Google Play $25 once.

Who owns your app if you leave

Check this before you build anything you plan to keep. FlutterFlow gives you the Flutter source code from its Basic plan. Lovable syncs your code to GitHub on every plan and lets paid users download a ZIP; its separate database export leaves out stored files, Edge Function code and secrets. Base44 offers GitHub sync and ZIP export from its Builder plan. Bolt.new syncs projects with GitHub. Bubble states that apps can only run on Bubble: you can export your data as CSV but not the app. Softr and Adalo do not offer code export on their official pages, and Glide limits code viewing to Enterprise. If owning the code is the priority, see our AI website builder with code compared ranking.

How we chose these tools

We kept the 8 tools that let a non-developer generate a working app with AI and publish it, and left out website builders and coding assistants for developers. For each one we read the official pricing page, docs and changelog on October 19, 2026, recorded every price and limit with its source, and checked each claim a second time against those pages. We did not test the tools ourselves. Prices are in US dollars, exclude tax and change often, so confirm them on the vendor's site.

The 8 best no-code AI app builders, ranked

  1. 1
    Lovable

Build full-stack web apps and websites by chatting with AI

Lovable turns a plain-language description into a full-stack web app.

    Best for:
    Full-stack web apps you own
    Pricing:
Free plan; Pro $25/mo (as of Oct 2026)
  2. 2
    Base44

No-code AI builder for apps, websites and AI agents

Base44 bundles what a first app needs: one prompt produces pages, a database, user authentication, server functions and hosting, and it includes built-in payments. Discuss mode lets you plan before anything changes, and Builder and higher plans can choose the AI model. At $16 a month billed yearly, Starter is the lowest paid price here and includes a custom domain. Real limits: building uses message credits and app features use separate integration credits, and both can run out; Free allows 5 apps and lets you view but not edit code; GitHub sync, ZIP export and App Store or Google Play files need the Builder plan ($40 a month billed yearly), and Base44's docs describe front ends run outside Base44 connecting to its hosted backend for data and functions. Pick it for a fast, low-cost first version of a web app.

    Best for:
    Low-cost all-in-one web apps
    Pricing:
Free plan; Starter $16/mo billed yearly (as of Oct 2026)
  3. 3
    Bubble

    Build web apps without code

Bubble is a visual app builder with an AI Agent: you describe the app, approve a plan, and it generates a first version that you keep refining by chat or in the visual editor. Agent 2 and a Bubble MCP server launched on October 6, 2026. Web and native iOS and Android apps share one database, workflows and API connections. Real limits: Bubble cannot export code, so your app only runs on Bubble; going live needs a paid Starter plan ($32 a month billed yearly for web only from October 20, 2026, or $59 a month billed yearly for web and mobile); server usage is metered in workload units, with overages of $0.30 per 1,000 on paid plans unless you turn them off; included AI credits do not roll over. Pick it for a complex product such as a marketplace or SaaS that you are happy to run on one platform for the long term.

    Best for:
Complex web apps plus native mobile
    Pricing:
Free to build; Starter from $32/mo billed yearly, web only (as of Oct 2026)
  4. 4
    A
    Adalo

No-code builder for native mobile and web apps

Adalo builds database-driven apps that publish to the App Store, Google Play and the web from one project. Its AI builder, Ada (in beta since March 2026), generates screens, a database and navigation from a description, and you then adjust everything on a drag-and-drop canvas. Pricing is flat: Adalo lists no usage or token charges and unlimited app actions on every plan. Real limits: Free cannot publish and caps each app at 500 records; Starter ($36 a month billed yearly, $45 monthly) publishes 1 app; connecting external databases through External Collections needs Professional ($52 a month billed yearly), and the Xano integration is listed on Team; its official pages do not mention code export. Apple ($99 a year) and Google Play ($25 once) developer accounts cost extra. Pick it if you want a native phone app without surprise usage bills.

    Best for:
Native phone apps without usage bills
    Pricing:
Free to build; Starter $36/mo billed yearly (as of Oct 2026)
  5. 5
    F
    FlutterFlow

Visual Flutter app builder that exports real, production Dart code.

FlutterFlow is a visual builder for native mobile, web and desktop apps that gives you the Flutter source code. Its AI generates pages and components from a text description, and an AI Agent Panel (beta) can edit the project, but logic, data and deployment are still set up in the visual editor, so it suits people comfortable with how apps are put together. It connects to Firebase, Supabase or any REST API. Real limits: Free has 2 projects, 5 AI requests in total and no code download or store deployment; Basic ($39 a month) adds code download, APK download and one-click App Store deployment; GitHub sync starts on Growth ($80 a month for the first seat). Pick it if owning portable code for a native app matters more than speed.

    Best for:
    Native apps with exportable code
    Pricing:
Free plan; Basic $39/mo (as of Oct 2026)
  6. 6
    S
    Softr

Build client portals and internal apps without code

Softr builds client portals and internal tools on its own database or on Airtable, Google Sheets, Notion and other sources. Its AI Co-Builder (launched March 31, 2026) generates tables, pages, user groups, permissions and simple workflows from a description, and everything stays editable in the visual editor. Logins, permissions and hosting come with every app. Real limits: plans cap app users, records and workflow actions (Free allows 5 app users and 5,000 records, and workflows pause at the monthly action limit); Softr builds web apps, and its installable mobile app is a PWA on Business ($329 a month billed yearly), not a store app; its official pages do not offer code export. Basic costs $19 a month billed yearly and includes a custom domain. Pick it for a portal or team tool built on data you already have.

    Best for:
    Client portals and internal tools
    Pricing:
Free plan; Basic $19/mo billed yearly (as of Oct 2026)
  7. 7
    Bolt.new

Build websites, web apps and mobile apps by chatting with AI

Bolt.new is a chat-based coding agent that runs in your browser and writes JavaScript apps you can see and edit as code. Bolt Cloud adds hosting, databases, authentication, file storage, server functions and Stripe payments, and mobile apps are built with Expo for TestFlight, the App Store and Google Play. Real limits: only JavaScript back ends are supported; token use grows as a project gets bigger because the agent reads more files per message; the free plan's hosting goes offline for the rest of the month if you pass its traffic limit; store publishing needs an Expo account plus paid Apple and Google developer accounts. Pick it if you are happy to look at code and want it synced to GitHub.

    Best for:
    Builders comfortable seeing code
    Pricing:
Free plan; Pro $25/mo (as of Oct 2026)
  8. 8
    G
    Glide

Build apps and portals from your data

Glide opened GlideOS, a separate agent-first builder that runs alongside Glide Classic, to the public on July 14, 2026. It turns a spreadsheet, prompt, PDF or screenshot into a working app for desktop and phone. Its SheetSense system translates a spreadsheet into the built-in database, and you change the app by chatting with the agent; workflows are described in plain language too. Real limits: Free cannot publish; Basic ($25 a month) publishes 2 apps for members of your organization only, and public apps need Plus ($50 a month); Google Sheets data is copied in and not written back; Glide does not list App Store or Google Play publishing, and code viewing is Enterprise only. Pick it for internal tools that start life as a spreadsheet.

    Best for:
    Spreadsheet-based team apps
    Pricing:
Free to build; Basic $25/mo (as of Oct 2026)

Verdict

Lovable is the top pick for most people: a full-stack web app with the code on GitHub from the free plan. Pick Base44 for the lowest paid price with everything built in, Bubble or Adalo for native mobile apps without code, and FlutterFlow if you want the source code. Already building on Base44 and hitting its limits? See our guide to switching from Base44.

Frequently asked questions

For a web app, Base44 and Lovable need the least setup: you describe the app and both include a database, logins and hosting. For a phone app, Adalo's AI builder generates screens and a database, and you edit on a drag-and-drop canvas with no usage charges.

Yes, all 8 tools here have a free plan, but most limit publishing and AI use. Lovable, Base44, FlutterFlow and Bolt.new let you publish on their own subdomain for free. Bubble's free plan has no live app, and Adalo and Glide cannot publish on Free. Free AI use is small, for example 30 build credits a month on Lovable or 25 message credits a month on Base44 (as of October 2026).

Yes. Adalo, Bubble and FlutterFlow publish native iOS and Android apps, and Bolt.new builds mobile apps through Expo. Base44 can generate App Store and Google Play files from its Builder plan. Lovable, Softr and Glide build web apps rather than store apps. You also need an Apple developer account ($99 a year) and a Google Play account ($25 once).

FlutterFlow, Adalo and Bubble each need a paid plan to publish to Google Play: FlutterFlow Basic is $39 a month, Adalo Starter $36 a month billed yearly and Bubble's mobile-only Starter $42 a month billed yearly (as of October 2026). You can build and test on their free plans first, and Google Play charges a one-time $25 developer fee.

For a first version, an internal tool or a simple product, often yes. For complex logic, security reviews and scale, plan on developer help: Lovable says its security scans support secure development but do not guarantee it, and Bubble asks you to review the privacy rules its Agent creates.
