The Best Base44 Alternatives in 2026

The best Base44 alternatives are Lovable for full-stack web apps you can take with you, Bolt.new for a large free token allowance, Rocket.new and FlutterFlow for native mobile apps, Bubble for visual control, and Glide for internal business apps. Base44 itself starts free (25 message credits a month) and its Starter plan is $16 a month billed yearly. Prices below come from each official pricing page as of September 2026.

TL;DR: Top pick

Lovable: The closest like-for-like swap: you chat, Lovable builds a web app with a backend, and publishing to a lovable.app address is free and does not expire. Git sync to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket is included even on Free, and Lovable states you own the code. Pro adds code editing, code download, custom domains and badge removal. It builds web apps only, so a store app needs a PWA or a wrapper made outside Lovable.

Why people look for a Base44 alternative

Base44 turns a plain-English description into a working app with a built-in database, login and hosting, and it is part of Wix (its site footer reads Wix.com Ltd.). The reasons people look around are mostly about limits and plan gates. The Free plan gives 25 message credits a month (no more than 5 a day) and up to 5 apps. Credits cover both AI messages and integration actions, and on paid plans unused credits expire when they reset each month. In-app code edits, a custom domain and removing the Base44 badge start on Starter ($16 a month billed yearly), while two-way GitHub sync, backend functions and the files you need to submit to the App Store and Google Play start on Builder ($40 a month billed yearly). If you want code you control from day one, a true native mobile app, or a visual editor instead of prompts, one of the builders below may fit better.

Best overall Base44 alternative: Lovable

Lovable works the way Base44 does: describe the app, then keep chatting to change it. Its free plan gives 5 build credits a day, capped at 30 a month, plus 20 Cloud credits for its built-in backend. Lovable's own examples price "Add authentication with sign up and login" at 1.20 credits and "Build me a landing page, use images" at 1.70, so a day's grant covers a first draft and a few edits at those rates. Two differences matter if you are leaving Base44. First, Git sync to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket is on every plan including Free, while Base44 puts two-way GitHub sync on Builder. Second, publishing from the Publish dialog is free, the site stays live on lovable.app with no expiry, and a published app stays up if you downgrade. Pro costs $25 a month for 100 credits ($21 a month billed yearly) and adds code editing, code download, custom domains and removal of the "Edit with Lovable" badge. Unused monthly-plan credits expire two months after they are issued, while Base44's paid credits expire at each monthly reset. Lovable does not package apps for the App Store or Google Play; its docs point to a PWA or a Capacitor wrapper built outside Lovable. Compare it with the other best AI app builders before you decide.

Best for heavy use on a free plan: Bolt.new

Bolt.new meters in tokens rather than messages: 300K a day and 1M a month on Free, with public and private projects, website hosting up to 333k web requests and unlimited databases. Free sites show Bolt branding. Pro is $25 a month billed monthly (Bolt says yearly billing saves up to 28%) and removes the daily cap, starts at 10M tokens a month, rolls unused tokens over for one extra month and adds custom domains. Bolt notes that most token use comes from syncing your project's files to the AI, so larger projects use more tokens per message. Bolt Cloud handles hosting, databases and domains inside Bolt, GitHub sync backs up your code outside it, and mobile apps are built with Expo for both iPhone and Android, as long as you say "mobile app" in the first prompt. Our Bolt.new listing has more on its plans.

Best for native mobile apps: Rocket.new and FlutterFlow

Base44's mobile path is a native wrapper around your published web app, and downloading the store files needs Builder or higher. If you need real mobile code instead, look at these two. Rocket.new generates Flutter code that you can publish to the Apple App Store and Google Play; you download the project on Pro ($25 a month with 100 credits) and finish the iOS submission in Xcode on a Mac. Rocket's free plan is a one-time grant of 20 credits; its pricing page says credits never expire, though its docs note that unused credits expire at the end of the billing cycle if you cancel. FlutterFlow is a visual builder for mobile, web and desktop apps: Free covers 2 projects with web publishing, and Basic at $39 a month (billed monthly; annual billing saves about 25%) adds code download, APK download, a custom domain and one-click App Store deployment. FlutterFlow is the better fit if you are happy to design screens yourself; its AI generation is capped at 5 requests on Free and 50 a month on Basic. See the Rocket.new listing and the FlutterFlow listing for more.

Best for visual control and business apps: Bubble and Glide

Prompt-only editing gets harder as an app grows. Bubble AI generates a full app from a description, then lets you open any element, workflow or data type in a visual editor, or keep chatting with its AI Agent. It can also generate native iOS and Android apps. Its Free plan is a development version with 50K workload units; going live starts with Starter at $59 a month billed annually, which adds a live site and custom domain. Bubble's manual is clear that apps run only on Bubble and cannot be exported as code, though you own your data and can export it as CSV. Glide targets internal tools rather than consumer apps: GlideOS builds apps from a spreadsheet, a prompt or a file. Its Free plan cannot publish apps, Basic ($25 a month) publishes 2 personal or team apps, Plus ($50) adds public apps, and Pro ($125, from 5 members) adds unlimited published apps; viewing code and project files is an Enterprise feature. Glide positions itself as a Base44 alternative for teams that want structured data and visual workflows instead of reprompting.

How to choose

Start with what made you look past Base44. If you want the same prompt-to-app experience with code you can sync or download, choose Lovable, or Bolt.new if you want a daily token allowance instead of a small message count. If you need an app in the App Store or Google Play, choose Rocket.new or FlutterFlow for generated mobile code, or Bolt.new for Expo apps. If you are tired of prompting for small fixes and want to click and edit, choose Bubble for customer-facing apps or Glide for internal tools on company data, and accept that Bubble apps cannot leave Bubble. If price is the main issue, compare entry plans rather than free tiers: Emergent Standard is $17 a month billed yearly, Base44 Starter $16 billed yearly, and Lovable Pro, Bolt.new Pro and Rocket.new Pro are $25 a month. Each tool counts usage differently (messages, credits, tokens or workload units), so the same app can cost very different amounts to build. What we don't know

Base44's pricing page shows its paid plans at yearly rates and says yearly billing saves 20%; it does not print the monthly figures in the page we loaded, so we quote yearly prices. None of these vendors publish a fixed cost per app, because every prompt uses a different number of credits or tokens. Bolt.new's pricing page does not say which plan its GitHub sync or Expo publishing requires. Bubble's pricing page lists prices billed annually only. We have not included app performance, reliability or support quality, since we have no published source to compare them on.

How this page was put together

We compared each builder's official pricing page and product documentation, all loaded on September 30, 2026, against Base44's own pricing page and docs. We picked alternatives that cover the main reasons people leave Base44: code ownership, credit limits, mobile apps and visual editing. We did not build apps with these tools for this page. Plans change often, so check the linked source before you pay.

Verdict

Lovable is the best Base44 alternative for most people: it builds the same kind of full-stack app from chat, publishes free on its own subdomain, and syncs your code to Git even on the free plan. Choose Bolt.new for a large free token allowance, Rocket.new or FlutterFlow when you need a native mobile app, Bubble when you want to edit visually and do not need to export code, and Glide for internal business apps. Base44 still makes sense if you want everything handled for you and can stay within its credits.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on what you need. Lovable is the closest match with better code access on free (Git sync on every plan), Bolt.new has a large free token allowance (1M tokens a month), Rocket.new and FlutterFlow produce real mobile app code, and Bubble and Glide give you a visual editor instead of prompts only.

Yes. Lovable (5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month), Bolt.new (1M tokens a month), Emergent (10 credits a month), Rocket.new (20 one-time credits), FlutterFlow (2 projects) and Bubble (a development version) all have free plans as of September 2026. Glide's free plan cannot publish apps, and Bubble needs a paid plan to go live.

Base44 calls itself a no-code AI platform and includes a backend, database and user login on every plan. Replit is an AI platform where you describe what you want and its Agent creates it, with its own databases and integrations. Replit Core is $20 a month or $18 billed annually, while Base44 Starter is $16 a month billed yearly, as of September 2026.

Base44 builds apps mainly from prompts. Glide's GlideOS builds internal business apps from a spreadsheet, a prompt or a file and lets you edit them in a visual builder with a built-in Data Editor. Glide's free plan cannot publish apps; Basic is $25 a month for 2 published apps.

For code ownership, Lovable is ahead: Git sync is included on its free plan and code download on Pro ($25 a month), while Base44 puts two-way GitHub sync on Builder ($40 a month billed yearly). Base44 has a built-in path to app store files on Builder, which Lovable does not offer.

Yes, on Builder or higher. Base44 says you own your code and that two-way GitHub sync exports the full source to your own repository, and its docs state that GitHub two-way sync requires the Builder plan or higher.

Dyad is a free, open-source desktop app builder that runs on your own machine, works with your own AI model keys (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or local models) and exports code you own. It connects to Supabase or Neon for a database and deploys through GitHub and Vercel.

For native mobile code, Rocket.new generates Flutter apps you can submit to the Apple App Store (Pro plan for code download), FlutterFlow offers one-click App Store deployment from its $39 Basic plan, and Bolt.new builds iOS and Android apps with Expo.
