Shopify AI Website Builder in 2026

Shopify's AI store builder is the best choice if your main goal is selling products: it generates a store design from a short description, and its pricing page lists the builder and the Sidekick assistant on its paid plans, from $29 a month on yearly billing, as of November 2026. Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Hostinger and GoDaddy are better if you want a website first and a store second. Every price below comes from the vendor's own page.
TL;DR: Top pick
Shopify: Shopify is the best fit if selling products is the whole point of the site. Its AI store builder generates store designs from a short business description, and Shopify's pricing page says the AI website builder and the Sidekick assistant are included on its paid plans, Basic through Plus. Sidekick can write product copy, edit images from a text prompt and create theme blocks, but Shopify's own help page warns that AI output can contain errors, so review it before publishing. Plans are Basic $29 a month, Grow $79 and Advanced $299 on yearly billing ($39, $105 and $399 billed monthly), with online card rates from 2.9% + 30 cents on Basic, as of November 2026. Shopify offers a 3 day free trial, then $1 a month for 3 months on most plans. Pick it if you sell physical or digital products and want payments, inventory and checkout in one place.
What is Shopify's AI website builder?
Shopify's AI website builder is really two things. The AI store builder turns a short description of your business into a store design, and Sidekick is an assistant inside the admin that writes content, edits images and takes actions on your data. Together they cover the first draft of a store, but the work that decides whether it sells, such as product photos, pricing, shipping and payments, is still yours. The usual reasons to look around are the monthly price plus payment fees, the wish for a more flexible website editor, or a smaller shop that does not need a full commerce platform.

Which one fits your store
Start with what the site must do. If you are selling products and want payments, inventory, shipping and checkout handled in one admin, Shopify is the default, and our Shopify alternatives page covers the other store platforms. If the site is mostly a brand or service site that may add a few products, Wix and Squarespace give you a stronger website editor and a smaller store. Wix is the better pick if you want to start free, and Squarespace if design polish matters most. Webflow suits a designer or agency who wants control over every layout, and Hostinger and GoDaddy suit someone who wants the cheapest or simplest path to a first live store. If you are weighing these against other categories of site, the hub of best AI website builders ranks the wider field, and our guide to the best AI website builder for ecommerce goes deeper on catalog size and cost of selling. If content is as important as the shop, look at AI blog website builders as well.
What a store really costs
The monthly plan price is only part of it. Shopify Basic is $29 a month on yearly billing, but its card rate is 2.9% + 30 cents online and it adds a 2% fee when you use a third-party payment gateway, and online international payments add 1%, as of November 2026. Shopify also lists an introductory offer of $1 a month for 3 months after a 3 day trial, so the first bill is not what you will pay in month four. Squarespace Basic charges a 2% store fee that disappears from Core upward, and Webflow Ecommerce Standard charges a 2% transaction fee on top of Stripe or PayPal fees, which Plus and Advanced remove. Wix's pages we read did not list transaction fees, and GoDaddy's did not list payment fees or plan prices, so we cannot rank them on total cost. Hostinger's headline price needs a 48 month term paid upfront and renews higher. Add the cost of apps, a domain and any AI credits you outgrow, then compare the total for your expected monthly sales, not the sticker price.
Ownership, lock-in and moving later
Every hosted builder holds your site in its own format, so plan an exit before you launch. On Shopify, product data can be exported to CSV from the admin, though images are not included in the file and variants over 100 are emailed instead. Webflow can export code from a paid Workspace plan, but says dynamic CMS content cannot be exported and forms stop working once the site is hosted elsewhere. GoDaddy's builder page says you can export the generated code, but for Wix, Squarespace and Hostinger the pages we read did not describe a full site export, so assume a move means rebuilding the design and re-importing products. Keep your domain registered in your own account where you can, keep a spreadsheet of products, and keep your original product photos, because those are the pieces that are slowest to recreate.
What we could not verify
Shopify's pages we read describe an AI store builder and the Sidekick assistant, but none of them used the name Shopify Magic that older articles use, so we describe only the features named on Shopify's own pages. Shopify's pricing page does not say whether its $0 Agentic plan includes the AI builder or Sidekick, and its help page does not say which plans include each AI feature, and says availability varies by plan, device and language. Squarespace's pricing page showed two prices per plan without labeling them, so we read the lower one as yearly billing, and the page did not name Blueprint AI. Wix's plans page said USD prices are for reference only. GoDaddy's builder page did not list prices or payment fees. We did not find any official source on speed, uptime or support quality, so we leave those out.
How we chose
We compared each vendor's official pricing, product and help pages, all loaded on November 3, 2026. We picked the tools people most often compare with Shopify's AI store builder: a store focused platform, three all-in-one website builders, a design-first builder, and a budget option. We did not build stores with these tools for this page, so nothing here is a judgment about how well the AI output performs. Prices and plan limits change often, so check the linked source before you pay. Third-party apps that generate Shopify stores also exist, but we did not compare them because they have no single official source.
Shopify and the best alternatives
- 1Shopify
AI-assisted ecommerce platform with Shopify Magic
Shopify is the best fit if selling products is the whole point of the site.
- Best for:
- Selling products online with AI help built into the admin
- Pricing:
- Basic $29/mo billed yearly ($39 monthly); Grow $79; Advanced $299; 3 day trial then $1/mo for 3 months, as of November 2026
- 2Wix
AI website builder with a free plan, drag-and-drop editing and 2000+ templates
Wix builds a full site from a prompt, including an online store with product galleries, payment integration and inventory tools, then lets you refine it with its Aria AI agent or drag and drop editing. You can start building free with no credit card, but accepting online payments needs a paid plan. Wix's own guide lists Light at $17 a month (no online payments), Core at $29, Business at $39 and Business Elite at $159, all billed yearly, as of November 2026. Wix's plans page says USD prices are for reference only and shows a 14 day money-back guarantee on the first upgrade. Pick it if you want to try a store before paying, or if the site is part marketing site, part shop. Wix did not list transaction fees on the pages we read, so check them before launch.
- Best for:
- A free AI draft that can grow into a store
- Pricing:
- Free plan; Core $29/mo billed yearly for online payments; Business $39/mo, as of November 2026
- 3Squarespace
Template-led website builder with Blueprint AI, built-in commerce and a 14-day free trial
Squarespace is a design-first builder with built-in AI tools and monthly AI credits that rise by plan. Its pricing page shows Basic, Core, Plus and Advanced at $25, $39, $65 and $139 a month with the lower figures of $19, $29, $49 and $99 shown beside them, which we read as the yearly rate, as of November 2026. The online store fee is 2% on Basic and 0% from Core upward, and card processing is 2.9% + 30 cents on Basic and Core, 2.7% on Plus and 2.5% on Advanced. There is a 14 day free trial with no credit card and no free plan. AI credits are 10 one time on Basic, then 20, 40 and 120 a month. Pick it if look and feel matter more than app depth or a very large catalog.
- Best for:
- Design-led brands with a small to mid-size catalog
- Pricing:
- Basic $19 to Advanced $99/mo (yearly rate as we read it); 14 day trial, as of November 2026
- 4Webflow
AI-native visual website platform with CMS, hosting and AI site generation
Webflow separates site plans from ecommerce plans. Ecommerce Standard is $29 a month billed yearly for 500 items with a 2% transaction fee, Plus is $74 for 5,000 items with 0%, and Advanced is $212 for 15,000 items with 0%, on top of Stripe or PayPal processing fees, as of November 2026. Webflow AI can build a site from a prompt, generate copy and, on ecommerce plans, generate CMS items. Code export is a Workspace feature that starts at Core ($19 a month billed yearly), and Webflow says dynamic CMS content cannot be exported and forms stop working off Webflow hosting. Pick it if you have design skills or an agency and want control over layout, not a quick AI first draft.
- Best for:
- Designers who want full visual control of a store
- Pricing:
- Ecommerce Standard $29/mo billed yearly; Plus $74; Advanced $212, as of November 2026
- 5Hostinger Website Builder
Drag-and-drop website builder with AI tools, hosting and a first-year domain; Black Friday promo from $2.49/mo on a 48-month term, renews at $10.99/mo (October 2026)
Hostinger Website Builder includes hosting, a free domain for the first year and AI tools for copy, logos, product titles, descriptions and images. Ecommerce is available on the Unlimited plan ($3.49 a month promo price on a 48 month term, $167.52 paid upfront) and Cloud Startup ($7.99 a month promo), not on the $2.49 Premium plan, as of November 2026. Renewal is $16.99 a month on Unlimited, so budget for the renewal, not the promo. Hostinger lists a 14 day free trial and a 30 day money-back guarantee, and 0% transaction fees. It did not state a product limit on the page we read. Pick it if budget is tight and you can commit to a long term.
- Best for:
- The lowest upfront price for a simple store
- Pricing:
- Unlimited (ecommerce) $3.49/mo promo on 48 months, renews $16.99/mo, as of November 2026
- 6GoDaddy AI Website Builder
All-in-one AI site builder with domain and email
GoDaddy's AI builder creates sites and pages from text prompts, lets you refine layout and copy through conversation, and deploys to GoDaddy hosting with SSL and SEO tools. GoDaddy says any website plan can be used to set up an online store and take payments through GoDaddy Payments, and that you can start free with 50 AI credits a month and no credit card. The page we read did not list plan prices or GoDaddy Payments fees, so check both before choosing it, as of November 2026. Pick it if you already use GoDaddy for domains or want a conversational first draft, and compare fees before you commit to selling.
- Best for:
- Getting a first online store from a chat style prompt
- Pricing:
- Free start with 50 AI credits a month; paid plan prices not listed on the page we read, as of November 2026
Verdict
Choose Shopify if selling is the point and you want payments, inventory and AI help in one admin. Choose Wix to start free, Squarespace for design led brands, Webflow if you want design control and can manage a more technical tool, Hostinger if the lowest promo price matters and you can commit for years, and GoDaddy if you want a conversational first draft and will check its fees. Whichever you pick, confirm the transaction fees and renewal price before launch, and see the full best AI website builders list if none of these fit.
